Our Story

There’s a Story Behind the Name

If you've ever heard the name HeadTrauma Entertainment and thought, “There has to be a story behind that name…”

You're absolutely right.

And the story behind our name is really the story of how everything began.

HeadTrauma Entertainment was founded by Carson Parmentor after an experience that completely changed his life.

Carson suffered a serious head injury that caused him to lose his memory. In an instant, so much of the life he had known was no longer something he could simply remember.

But through one of the most difficult chapters of his life, there was something that continued to bring him happiness:

Music.

Carson loved music, but what he loved even more was what music could do for other people.

He loved watching a room come alive when the right song played. He loved seeing people dance, laugh, sing, and celebrate together. Through music, Carson found something that allowed him to turn an incredibly difficult experience into something positive.

He could make people happy.

And from that came HeadTrauma Entertainment.

More Than Just a Name

The name HeadTrauma Entertainment wasn't created by a marketing company or chosen because it sounded different.

It was personal.

It represented Carson's story and his decision to take something that had dramatically changed his life and turn it into something that could create happiness for others.

What began with Carson and a love for music gradually grew into a real entertainment company.

And eventually, that story crossed paths with Marc Suber.

When Carson Met Marc

By the time Carson and Marc began working together, Marc wasn't learning how to become a DJ.

He was already a great one.

In fact, Carson considered Marc one of the best DJs he had seen.

Marc already understood music. He knew how to mix, how to read a crowd, how to control the energy of a room, and most importantly, how to keep a dance floor moving.

Carson saw something in Marc that went beyond his ability behind the DJ booth.

He saw someone who could help HeadTrauma Entertainment grow.

So rather than teaching Marc how to DJ, Carson began mentoring him on something entirely different:

The business.

Carson taught Marc what happened before the speakers ever turned on.

He helped him understand the business side of the wedding industry—working with clients, handling bookings, managing events, building relationships, organizing operations, and understanding what it takes to run a successful entertainment company.

Eventually, Carson helped Marc take one of the biggest steps in HeadTrauma Entertainment's history:

Opening the Pittsburgh location.

Pittsburgh & Ohio

For the next several years, Carson and Marc operated HeadTrauma Entertainment together across two markets.

Carson ran the Ohio location.

Marc ran the Pittsburgh location.

They weren't simply two DJs working under the same name. They were building the company together.

Marc took what Carson had taught him about the business and combined it with his own experience, personality, ideas, and ability as a DJ to establish HeadTrauma Entertainment in the Pittsburgh market.

Meanwhile, Carson continued operating the Ohio side of the company he had started.

For several years, that's how HeadTrauma grew—two locations, two leaders, and one company built around the same purpose:

Making people happy.

But eventually, the very injury that had inspired the HeadTrauma name began affecting Carson's ability to continue doing what he loved.

When the Music Became Too Much

Years after Marc opened and began running the Pittsburgh location, Carson started experiencing increasingly severe pain from the loud music at weddings.

The environment he had spent years loving became physically difficult for him to endure.

After some weddings, the pain became so intense that Carson would spend days bedridden recovering from the event.

For someone who had built a company around music and making people happy, it was an incredibly difficult reality.

Eventually, Carson had to make the decision to step away from the company he had created.

But by then, something important had already happened.

There was someone Carson trusted to continue it.

Passing the Torch

Marc had spent years running the Pittsburgh location.

He knew the business.

He knew the clients.

He understood the wedding industry.

And he understood what HeadTrauma Entertainment was supposed to represent.

Carson had watched Marc grow from one of the best DJs he had encountered into someone capable of running and leading the company.

So when Carson could no longer continue, Marc took over HeadTrauma Entertainment.

It wasn't the beginning of a new company.

It was the next chapter of the same one.

Marc took the foundation Carson had built and began expanding upon it—growing the team, developing new services, entering new areas of the wedding industry, and continuing to push HeadTrauma Entertainment forward.

HeadTrauma Today

Today, HeadTrauma Entertainment has grown far beyond what either of them could have imagined during those early years.

What began as a DJ company has evolved into a wedding entertainment and media company offering DJ entertainment, wedding photography, videography, and Polaroid wedding photography.

But despite everything that has changed, one thing hasn't.

The original purpose.

Make people happy.

That's still at the center of everything we do.

It's there when a DJ finds the song that packs the dance floor.

It's there when a photographer captures a moment nobody else noticed.

It's there when a couple watches their wedding film years later and hears the voices and laughter from that day again.

And it's there when someone holds a Polaroid photograph in their hands that instantly takes them back to one of the most important days of their life.

From Losing Memories to Creating Them

There's something about the HeadTrauma Entertainment story that has come full circle.

This company began after an injury that caused someone to lose his memories.

Today, our entire company is dedicated to helping people create and preserve theirs.

Through music, we create moments.

Through photography, we freeze them in time.

Through video, we allow them to be experienced again.

And through Polaroid photography, we turn those moments into something you can physically hold in your hands.

That's what HeadTrauma Entertainment means to us.

It's more than an unusual name.

It's Carson's story.

It's Marc's story.

It's the story of two people who brought different strengths together—one who built the foundation and another who helped expand it, eventually carrying it forward.

It's a story of mentorship, friendship, perseverance, growth, and finding something positive even when life doesn't go according to plan.

Carson started HeadTrauma Entertainment because he discovered how much happiness he could bring people through music.

Marc continues that legacy today by taking what Carson started and finding new ways for our team to create those moments for every couple who trusts us with their wedding.

HeadTrauma Entertainment began with a story about memories that were lost.

Today, we dedicate ourselves to creating memories you'll never want to forget.
